What a grand gentleman full of the joys of life.
May he rest in Gods peace.
Coronavirus strikes again. Gone too soon.
Heads up ping.
One of the greats pre-1990, along with Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Lauda.

Maybe some of our British members can chime in, but I read that for years (decades?) the British cops would stop speeders and ask ‘who do you think you are, Stirling Moss?’.
RIP.
I had the chance to meet him and get his autograph back in 2007. Very nice person with a good sense of humor as well. He was really personable and down to earth.
My father would tell me stories about him other great drivers as he was a amateur driver of the east coast tracks especially Lime Rock. He would travel the US to see the F1 races and loved to go to Sebring in the 60s. My mother still gets up at 2 and 3 in the morning to watch the races from Europe and the Middle East. I just cant keep the kids interested in the sport. My dad even had the car sounds on 33 records of the great races of the day.
I remember in the old Can Am days some thought Mosport Park was named after him depending on how one pronounced it. It wasnt as it was a contraction of motorsport. He was retired by then but was sort of the ambassador for the Can Am series showing up at many of the races.
I saw Stirling float a bird cage Maserati around Laguna Seca at an Historic race in the early 90’s. I say float because it was like there was no effort at all. Everyone else was fighting their cars but Stirling was the master of his.
