Shiva is the god of destruction. He is not actually “bad”, he destroys when destruction is necessary. The word “shiva” actually means “auspicious”. According to the Vedas, he does his work according to the will of the Supreme. Interesting thing about Shiva is that those who worship or honor him with ill or harmful motives always get destroyed. Whatever they want always boomerangs on them, big time.
