Hmm, this Brennan Center is very leftist, I’d like a source that is not staffed by what appear to be Demsheviks. So...I need another source about presidential powers, I do not trust leftists.

Have you looked at their staff? I’m searching now and posting a few snips, the names are not familiar to me. I think the few examples below are sufficient to cross them off the list as a reputable source of information on anything. I was wondering, “Which Brennan is this outfit named after?”, could not find that yet.

Some topics:

The Constitution was designed to change with the times, while preserving the promise of justice, equality, and liberty for all. The Brennan Center is dedicated to making sure it does just that.

The Brennan Center fights for change right now. But we also work over the longer term to shape a Constitution that’s in sync with an evolving America — a document that was designed to keep up with changes seen and unforeseen, and that provides the authority to protect and expand democracy to meet the needs of all. Our groundbreaking legal research is helping to reshape advocacy strategies on issues from free speech to equal rights for women to gun safety.

We support constitutional reforms that would eliminate the Electoral College in favor of direct election of the president by a national popular vote.

The source is federal law. I didn’t intend that the source would be an issue because the link provides references to each of the federal laws that enable each emergency power listed. In this article the Heritage Foundation references the Brennan study and the 136 powers that were identified without question:

I think it’s named after one of my favorite childhood movie actors, the great Walter Brennan. No! Sorry that’s fake news, it is in fact named for former Supreme Court justice William J. Brennan, a liberal.
