I feel like when this happened they decided they needed to keep mum about what they know, and deal with the crisis. THEN will be the time to strike back at a time and place of our choosing.
OR, this could be China’s Chernobyl, a tragic accident that was bungled and covered up by the Chinese because the cardinal rule is you must never give your superior bad news because they most certainly WILL shoot the messenger.

If we are truly at war, then this is going to escalate a lot more than just tit-for-tat.
In our GRAND STATEGY, the U.S. needs to unplug from the Chinese economy and put them back in a box as far as their naval and space forces. Then let their communist system starve away like the USSR.
I got a PM a few days ago from a fellow FReeQ that has really stuck with me. The writer pointed out similarities with the openings of other wars: 911, Gulf of Tonkin and Pearl Harbor.
Actually he could have gone all the way back to the French and Indian War. ALL UNITED STATES WARS HAVE STARTED WITH SOME SORT OF ENIGMATIC EVENT ... just like we are experiencing right now.
