While it’s unfortunate they cut him off, it’s also predictable (i.e. they’re biased but not dumb). But they can’t change human nature and the first thing people will say after hearing Trump “showed a video but they cut him off” is to go seek out the video online. No different that telling a kid not to do something - I think there’s an example that goes back to the Garden of Eden ;-)
So some will see it, and some who do will change what they think. Of those who don’t at minimum cognitive dissonance will set in, making them less certain of their own “rightness”. Changing minds is a slow process, but when we depend on the fake news media to report on fake news, it takes a whole lot longer.
Agreed. However, I think I’ll suggest on the WH online form some ways to handle such interruptions essentially to require more respect & civility.
I appreciate that there’s something about Trump’s NY street fighter neighborhood that triggers his scrappy demeanor but I think he & the Presidency & the country would be better served if he required more respect & civility from the jerk press.
