Thats a shame. Im glad hes able to at least maneuver around the islands and drop anchor or dock. My friends boat wasnt a sail boat. He had engines lol. We still lived on the boat on the weekends during warm weather tho. It was a fun lifestyle that Im glad to have experienced. Im glad I was able to then because Im no longer allowed to be in the sun. (I had an emergency donor bone marrow transplant the following spring. With donor cell transplant, the sun can cause very bad skin reactions called graft vs host disease. The donor cells would react to the sun on my skin and create a real fiasco. So, Im glad I did it.
But, those kids are having the experience of a lifetime. Its very cool. Im going to follow their videos.
I have a son who opted buying a used boat for the summer rather than take a trip to Disney world with his family. Joined a boat club so he could park it there. Every weekend they were on the boat and loved every minute of it....sometimes even during the week. Being in the boat club they met some great people too, Often had cook outs etc. and his three kids were very happy they did this as it was all summer long rather than just a weekend at Disney.
Wow, what an experience that must have been. I'm very thankful you're here with us, and pray you are doing well now. I'm sorry to hear it has altered your ability to be in the sun for extend periods of time, but thank you for sharing that.
When I discovered the Zatara crew, I went back and started when they first sold their home in Dallas and bought a bought, never really having sailed before. It's amazing to watch the transformation of their kids as the episodes proceeded.
My wife and I still look forward to Thursdays when their video updates are posted.
Take care and stay far away from Corona.
