Musical interlude
Emmy Lou Harris was a big part of my life, when we were both young. I still have her every album. On vinyl.
She has aged quite well, still the picture of sweetness and grace.
Good job , First Aid Kit and mahalo for this posting.
I cried too
Beautiful, thanks :)
Al always did such a good job. ;-)
My favorite [perhaps trite, but whatever]:

Mine too. Saw her a couple of times in the late ‘70s. My favorite album of hers is “Quarter Moon In A Ten Cent Town’’.
Love First Aid Kit. Surprised they aren’t better known.
I married a gal that looked a lot like her ( 1st wife)
Gee, I wonder why ? ;^)

Harris is from a career military family. Her father, Walter Harris (1921-1993), was a Marine Corps officer, and her mother, Eugenia (1921-2014), was a wartime military wife. Her father was reported missing in action in Korea in 1952 and spent ten months as a prisoner of war. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Harris spent her childhood in North Carolina and Woodbridge, Virginia,
Beatiful! Really nice!
Love that kind of music.
Won't hear it on "regular" radio though.
How do you find real music like this?
“How do you find real music like this? “
Hang around with old country hippies ;^)
I adore her.
I adore her.
I saw this one three years ago. A VERY NICE TRIBUTE to Emmy Lou but also the great Graham Parsons. These Swedish girls have been doing their homework for years. This shows how our solid country music has a world wide appeal especially in the UK.
They even have US English...
Eugenia is such a lovely name and of Greek origin.
“Surprised they arent better known.”
I never heard of them before I saw this thread.
It used to be that radio would play new stuff, and you could go to the record store and browse large numbers of albums.
My kids tell me that no one buys CDs any more, but instead buy single songs on line. I like whole albums.
“They even have US English...”
Down pat. Yes indeed!
