Agreed on the recent crap, but interspersed with a few gold nuggets.

I grew up reading Mad Magazine in its glory days. Loved the artwork! RIP Mort, thanks for the joy.

Between Mad Magazine and Cheech and Chong records, it’s no wonder I grew up so warped, LOL!

While my cousin was out running around with her friends in Queens I spent hours in my grandmothers basement reading Mad magazine, marveling at the great art of Drucker and laughing like mad at his brand of humor.
Man, I hate to see that be part of the days gone by.
Thank you Mort for those good times.
RIP and take up your new studio upstairs and dont get too irreverent but I rather think those angels have a sense of humor, too.

Will Elder, Jack Davis, Wally Wood, Don Martin, Dave Berg, and now Mort Drucker. RIP all; you inspired a lot of laughter over the years.

Haven't read it since I was about 17 but brings back many fond childhood memories. Back in the 1970s, it was actually sort of scandalous to have those type of magazines in the house. Many parents forbade them. But I bought probably every issue from about 1971 (35 cents CHEAP) to 1979 (60 cents CHEAP).
I also read similar magazines like CRACKED and SICK, but MAD was the gold standard of comic book satire back in the day.
