HIstory experts hate to be proven false
More true than you know.
Numerable years ago Id seen a show talking about the idea that some of the time that Egypt had had different dynasties ruling at the same time from different capitols. When next I visited my alma mater I ran into a professor of archaeology and I brought it up.
His reaction, that it would mess everything up, surprised me. You see they date other civilizations by Egypt (potteryetc) but assume the timeline has no overlap between dynasties.
So if true the idea should fix things that are broken ... but would also cause havoc with a lot of existing work.
Not saying that there is significant overlaps, though some physical evidence suggests there might be, but the reaction itself was telling. And odd considering that the Maya were his focus.
