Both NBA and NHL were 2 weeks away from the playoffs and the NBA TV contract specifically dictates the number of games. I have buds at Fox Sports here in L.A. and they explained a lot of things that tilts towards the NBA NOT allowing the season to fold.

Just came back from L.A. on a one year contract job. California is very nice. However I did miss the Thunderstorms I'm having right now back in Detroit. :)
