I hope Pell has found justice. Why did the jury convict him? What did they base the verdict on if all they had was hearsay from one person?

The first jury did not convict him, the prosecutor did not like that and tried him again. The pressure to convict was enormous, much like the Dreyfus Affair, the facts don't matter as long as the public gets blood. The hatred there is very real. Read the Oz supreme court's statement, they found the whole thing a grave miscarriage of justice. These things are never overturned. By the Grace of God they overturned this case.
