I guess it’s more debatable if a person is so frail that almost any illness would have resulted in death, but that doesn’t apply to most of the covid-19 deaths that I’ve read about.

Some deaths have been active and healthy middle aged or young adults, but the majority are eldery with co-morbidities.

Yes, clearly it’s highly important that research be done to identify all contributing factors and hopefully we will know what causes some younger people to be more vulnerable. Hopefully there will be a way to identify those risk factors before the next wave, as well as improved treatments and a vaccine for those who want it. The first case in my county was a teenager, which was pretty unnerving, even though travel-related.
