We can handle trade, under strict processes.

A LOT of international processes will have to change, at least until this thing is goes away.

We have to keep the disease out, until the globe calms completely down.

We have to keep future diseases from China out. That means keeping Chinese nationals, and former visitors to China, out of the US, keeping all but essential made-in-China products out of the US, etc.

So no Chinese students, tourists, etc., and no one from any country who has been to China in the past six months.
