I’m not saying Sweden’s approach is best. Way too early to tell, but I think you are missing the point.
They are expecting more early infections / deaths in the short term.
The question is how much worse off will their country be in the long run.
If they can achieve close to the same end results as their neighbors while not shutting down their country and destroying their economy, then it will be viewed as a great decision.
If their final numbers are way worse than everyone else’s, then it will have been suicidal.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
The delta - the difference between their rate and their neighbors will give us the critical metric. They are gambling lives versus Kronos. Sad.
