158 people a day in a city of more than 8 million? I think you need to re-think that. More like 400/day is “normal” for NYC.

NYC had 53,006 deaths from all causes in 2014

NYC had 2,220 deaths from Influenza and Pneumonia in 2014

You have to export the data to Excel and add it up. But here’s another confirmation - a death every 9.1 minutes. There are 24*60 = 1440 minutes in a day. 1440/9 is 158
Your number of 400 deaths a day is probably for the entire state of New York, not New York City.
