Dr. Birx said at the presser Tuesday that one of the problems was providers writing a script for Lab A because that is the lab they typically use, and the testing being delayed because Lab A is out of tests, while Lab B has plenty of tests sitting around unused. That explains why the gov’t is saying there are plenty of tests while providers, etc., are saying they’re out. She said educating providers was key to getting the available tests to be utilized.
