We don’t go into stores, but we do curbside. So if that’s available, do that, and buy non-perishables, if you don’t have refer/freezer space.
When you pick up, just be sure to be upwind when the guy hands you the device to sign for the food. He won’t know the difference, but you’ll be safe. If you want, you can wear gloves to handle the food - and then let it sit for a few days while the virons, if any, die off...although I don’t know of that type of transmission from my Asian sources.
My Food Lion now has tall plastic see-through screens between the customers and cashiers, blue tape lines to socially distance the waiting customers and plastic baggies over the card readers, so customers can punch the buttons with the baggie surface in between. Didn’t quite cover the send/enter button, though.
I think that just like February is Black History Month, and March is Women’s History Month, April should be commemorated, starting this year, as “Wu Flu We So Screwed History Month.”
