Stories like this one need to be emphasized more. This virus is not a Chinese virus. It’s a ChiCom virus.

The Taiwanese are fellow victims. And they are legitimately trying to help.

I visited Taiwan for a business trip while working in Japan in a previous life. It is a delightful little country with its own flag, currency and national anthem. Our hosts had learned that I loved history and had a ticket to the national museum (much of it spirited out of the mainland in 1949) and a phone number to call for a Japanese speaking driver to take me there when I finished checking in to the hotel.

Even the local 7-11 had the merchandise arranged very similar to what I was used to in Japan. And since there was one around the corner from the hotel and I'd forgotten to pack shaving cream, I bought a tube there and peeled off the Chinese language sticker to find Japanese underneath.

To my delight, locals who couldn't understand enough English to point me in the right direction could often understand Japanese.
