A suggestion - lead by example. Calling a FReeper a moron and asking them to "can the abuse" is probably not going to lead to the desired outcome.

A suggestion - read the whole post. He made an uneducated remark off the cuff and called me a moron without provocation. So I educated him and made my point about name calling.

He did not reply so IMO he was only interested in dishing abuse. Or maybe he was properly shamed. Either way suits me.

Notice that even though you chose to insert yourself into this exchange, you didn’t resort to abuse and I didn’t give any back.
