Having read your homepage you are correct on a whole lot of topics but you are dead wrong on the germ-a-phobe front.
You can’t fight germs by ‘hiding’ from them, they will find you sooner or later, no matter what you do or don’t do.
“You cant fight germs by hiding from them, they will find you sooner or later, no matter what you do or dont do.”
The point is to slow down the inevitable spread of the infection to everyone, such that it minimizes the deaths and keeps the burden on the HCS low enough to prevent collapse.
A collapsed HCS will result in a sharp increase in mortality and, incidentally, crash the rest of the economy. Likewise, a crashed economy will result in a crashed HCS.
So keeping the HCS strong enough to deal with the pandemic and stimulating the economy enough to avoid collapse is a pretty good strategy, all things considered. Will it work forever? No. Is any of this ideal? No. Is everybody making sacrifices? Pretty much. It’s harder on some than on others. But so is being dead or having million dollar hospital bills.
War is hell. And for the first time in a long time, we’re fighting it on our own soil.

EXACTLY- thank you for saying that- I’ve been saying that right along- We’re just delaying the inevitable- it’s just like having a flu in a home- if one person has it- no matter what the other folks try to do to prevent getting it too- eventually they will get it despite al the precautions- most likely- it’s just a matter of time- Very Very few families can avoid all gettign it if one is sick in the house- the virus cells are just too numerous, too small, and too hard to control
