My only real experience with firearms was courtesy of the United States Army...Fort Knox...1969.We were the last cycle to qualify with the M-14 and the first to qualify with the M-16. I managed to avoid injuring myself (and others) and also managed to avoid an Article 15 or court martial.

Just got my license to carry and am contemplating my first firearms purchase.I fully agree with your comments about detailed training but am considering a Glock or S&W rather than a shotgun or revolver.

FWIW, I wouldn’t own/shoot a “pl@stic b@st@rd”, IF they were FREE, as I once saw the results of one “coming apart” on the range & SERIOUSLY wounding the USPS Inspector who was shooting it, using standard/government issue “duty” 115 grain ammo. = The victim came very near losing an eye & did have to have at least 5 reconstructive surgeries on his face.
(I believe that he would have lost his eye, had we NOT had a qualified paramedic on the range & who was VERY quick to “limit the damage”. - That said, I’m NOT a physician, nor do I play one on TV. - I’m just an old-school USA Rangemaster.)

IMO, those plastic pistols are POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS with any ammo.

Just my OPINION, TMN78247
