I have a matching pair of the SP 101s with 4.2 barrels in .22 and .357 mag. Beautiful set. Im good for anything south of Montana or Alaska.
You slap leather with these and you know what a real gun should feel like.

I own “a few” handguns. My CZ-75 is easily the most accurate, reliable and ergonomic handgun I own.
I don’t own any Glocks but my brother owns a couple so I’ve had a chance to try them out extensively. I much prefer my CZ-75.

I love all my 30+ handguns, but my most carried EDC is my Glock G26, though I’ve been known to deep carry (or speedo carry) is my Sig P238. Around the yard and house, I carry a Performance Center 627, 8 shot revolver in .357. When hunting, G29 in 10mm.

Agreed, a revolver is about idiot proof. With an automatic I would suggest lots of range time. A good used Ruger, S&W, Taurus 4inch .357 magnum or even a 4 inch .38 Spl. loaded with JHP .38Spl. The heavier .357 would soak up the recoil of the .38spl. round for new shooters well.

I wanted another Glock, this time a single-stack.
I checked out both the G-26 and G-43 and went with the G-43 with mag extender.

Glad I have my old one. Someone else reported there were problems with the new one

Those would all be on my list to recommend to a first time gun buyer.

They buy the gun. Maybe fire a box of shells. Put it in a drawer. A year later they take it out and maybe have forgotten how it operates.
I haven't forgotten how it operates and I've put way more than one box of shells through mine, but this struck a little too close to home. I need to get to the range, been quite a while.

I have some of that ammo also. I keep one Taurus downstairs loaded with the 0000 and the bedroom rig is loaded with #6.
The 0000 is like shooting 4, 9mm slugs at one time.
cool stuff. bad day for the bad guy.

Hate plastic and hate striker fired, none of those pistols would ever set grips in my safe. With that said I do have a SIG 365, only striker fired I’ve ever owned, it doesn’t have grips.

If you take your average untrained person, chances are they will be more accurate with a striker fired semi-auto than a double action revolver.

I got one last year, and liked it so much that I bought another one and gave it to my daughter for her birthday. Excellent gun for teaching young women to shoot!

[Article:] Where the Hi-Point C9 fails incredibly in aesthetics, it is the undefeated world champion in reliability. In my experience, "the undefeated world champion in reliability" is just about ANY aluminum-framed Ruger P-series handgun. (This article, of course, is discussing current production models only... ;>)

I have a brother in-law that won an AR-15 at a gun raffle a year ago. He has never shot it and asked if I had some ammo he could get. I told him that we need to take it to the range first to get it sighted in and for me to show him how to clean it first. I imagine he only has one magazine for it too. SMH
