It wouldn’t have been any better for them if they kept going to work, got this, and ended up in the hospital for 2 to 3 weeks.
Some relief is on the way.
As you point out many segments of the retail industry are going gang busters.
How many small businesses will survive a couple of months shuttered? How many tens of millions of jobs depend on those businesses? How many tens of millions of people will fall seriously behind on their mortgages or slide into crippling debt?
Exactly. How many folks have a mortgage requiring two incomes? A lot! At this point I see no way we don’t get out of this self inflicted mess without a 2008 style housing crisis. And when a housing slow down aftershock hits a Wu Flu Panic weakened economy it will be devastating.
There will be tremendous political pressure for one bailout after another in the coming years. Dems and statist GOPers must be licking their chops.
As big as that jump was, unemployment is back to the start of Obama’s last year.
I didn’t hear people screaming that the economy was totally in ruins then.
I haven't panicked over the virus or the economy. I think for the most part American citizens have put their trust in President Trump. However I literally never watch the mainstream media.
Bullshit! This virus was never going to do the damage to our economy that the hysteria has done. Go look at Sweden as an example. They’ve largely continued on life as normal without largescale lockdowns and they have a whopping 4000 cases.
“We must find a way to restart our economy and coexist as soon as possible.”
We cannot coexist with the forces of evil. They must be driven from power on a permanent basis. Perhaps this situation is our opportunity.
And the stock market is about where it was when Prez Trump took office (i think). He's already PROVEN he can improve things quickly with a bunch of liberal hacks in the government and now he's got many more on his side and a proven track record.
“As big as that jump was, unemployment is back to the start of Obamas last year.
I didnt hear people screaming that the economy was totally in ruins then.”
You are joking right? You obviously didn’t pay any attention to the Trump campaign as this WAS his central theme.
ITS JUST THE FLU BRO /s
“Stick with President Trump and defeat the liberal mindset!”
trump is destroying this nation as much as any liberal with his call to shutdown.
...and every single day that we remain locked down it’s only getting worse.
You haven’t seen anything yet. That was just the first report. We are headed for 20 - 30 % unemployment.
and there we go...the left has succeeded in making you give up hope.
You either support him and his call to action or you dont. Either stop passing the buck or blame him. Make a choice.
If warehouse and retail space is dirt cheap, then the landlords go out of business and/or default on the debt they incurred to build it.
This disaster is just getting started.
A deflationary spiral is extremely dangerous. The Great Depression was exactly that.
I literally cannot tell the difference between your tone an the tone and questions of every leftist reporter at the daily press conferences. You almost say it was as much glee as they do!
Thx, per Wikipedia hysteria Has been abandoned as a medical term, I guess it is politically incorrect.
Hysteria colloquially means ungovernable emotional excess.[1] Generally, modern medical professionals have abandoned using the term “hysteria” to denote a diagnostic category, replacing it with more precisely defined categories, such as somatization disorder.[2] In 1980, the American Psychiatric Association split phenomenology previously captured by the “hysteria” construct into discrete chapters on conversion, somatization, and dissociative disorders.
