Grammy winning country music legend Joe Diffie passed away Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19), his publicist says.
He was 61-years-old. His family asks for privacy at this time.
Between then and 2004, Diffie charted 35 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, five of which peaked at number one.
Some of his hit songs include, Home, Ships That Dont Come In, If The Devil Danced, John Deere Green, and Honky Tonk Attitude.
RIP
I liked him. Man, that is too bad. RIP
Joe Diffie was one of the bigger stars of the early to mid ‘90s era and I liked a number of his songs. I was into country music big time back then (now mainly a jazz and classical guy) while my peers at university were spaced out on grunge or Zeppelin or the Beastie Boys.
This is a shame to hear. So young - at 61.
He did have a string of country music hits. My favorite of them was "John Deere Green". Click the link above, a great American country song.
It’s a Christmas tradition in our house to play “Leroy, the Redneck Reindeer’. He did that in 1995.
We’ll miss him.
One of the biggest country stars when my wife and I first got married. Loved his music “Third Rock from the Sun” and “John Deere Green”.

Never heard of the guy because I don’t listen to country music. But just listened to John Deere Green. Cute lyrics, but still can’t listen to country.
Yea well My sis cant read factual conservative articles I send her
Prop him up, by the juke box, ‘cause he died.
Thanks for reminding me what a catchy song that is! Rest In Peace, Joe Diffie.
Diffe did bluegrass too. Fit For A King is one of my favorites. RIP
I’ve line danced to that song...
RIP.
