If you go to Weatherunerground.com and type in your town and state it will bring up the local weather and also tell you how many confirmed cases of coronavirus plus how many are deceased from it are in your county. Mine said none to both. Not sure how reliable it is, someone could drive in from another area that is infected and be shopping.
Hey, thanks for that! We are less than 1 mile from a county line so I'm trying to keep track of 2 counties. Our state website says 0 cases in either county. But the local paper cited a case in the county across the line and local gossip is flying about a case in the nearest in-county town. (A few miles away) I need all the resources I can get.
Since the inception of this we've stayed home until I was told Dollar General had a shipment of milk. They are the only store within 5 miles of us and as such we are pretty friendly with all employees. Got my milk, with gloves. I had not been into a store since March 12 when all things were still widely available. All local shortages I've only known by word of mouth. The young lady working the register was the store manager and I know her fairly well so we chatted a bit. They had marked the store for social distancing and she said almost all customers have been very respectful of the safety of all. I'm a hermit by nature so "stay at home" is good for me. But for once it was nice to get out and "do something normal." Even with gloves, hand sanitizer usage, wiping down the pickup handles and steering wheel then thoroughly washing hands upon returning home. (Ok. Maybe just sorta normal)
