What do you think the other purposes might be? I can think of the ones I thought of right away, like no more meetings where things can be discussed, no more right of assembly.

That this involves state sponsored terrorism.

That there’s more than one virus out there and we’re being threatened with the second one.

Or some other threat.

I don’t think they’d have done that with Cheyenne mountain if it were ‘just the flu’.

We can discuss *plenty* now in spite of ‘shutdown’. We’re doing it right now in fact.

We’re no more ‘monitored’ doing so than we would be in Sunday School where everyone brought their cell phones along.

And restrictions on occupancy are also adjudicated juris prudence. We just haven’t used them in about a hundred years as regards a ‘bad microbe’. LOTS of places were shut down during the 1918 flu. We just weren’t a nation of giant infantile narcissists then. ‘Bad microbes’ were our constant companions on this planet for the duration, until the 1940s/50s.

‘we’ understood such things to be necessary and nobody talked about shooting the public health officer (flubros first comments always involve ‘we need to start shooting’, ‘this is why we have guns’, agent provocateurs notwithstanding). ‘We’ haven’t been asked to restrict our actions for public health reasons in 3 or 4 generations.

I also find it interesting that some of the same flubros who want to shoot the public health officers ALSO want to call out child services because some hippy 3 counties over has an unvaxd child. In spite of the fact that said child has no infectious disease at the current time.
