Anderson Cooper, is that you?
Of course this “flu” is bad...BUT it doesn’t come close to “normal” flu outbreaks.
This response is waaaaay over the top...and something very bad is going on.
The fact NAZI Pelosi has announced two more “stimulus” bailouts speaks volumes.
Please do your homework before irritating the adults in the room.

Jim Acoster, is that you??
POTUS is speaking about adding another stimulus.
Take your rude, unsubstantiated comments and buzz the heck off.
Thanks.
You appear to know nothing about how diseases spread.
It’s not the flu.
It kills 20 times as many as the flu. It is more contagious than the flu. We have no vaccines, no immunity.
The flu is everywhere. You can’t contain it. Everybody is exposed multiple times each flu season. About 20% of the population gets it, largely because we do have vaccines and some herd immunity.
So far less than 1% of the US population has been infected. Yet for the past few days we have more CCP-19 deaths than flu deaths on the worst flu day of the worst flu year. And it is just getting started.
Scale that up to a 20% infection rate and redo the calculation.
Scale it up to a 50% infection rate and redo the calculation.
Just because CCP-19 hasn’t killed as many people in 1 month as the flu did in six does not make it just a “bad flu”.
Without this response there would shortly be no HCS or economy for you to whine about. With it, there is a chance at getting back to something like “normal” in a few months.
“The fact NAZI Pelosi has announced two more stimulus bailouts speaks volumes.”
you must be very angry with POTUS
One thing I found interesting about this ‘normal’ flu season is, “ hospitalizations are the highest CDC has on record for young children, up to age 4, and adults ages, 18-49.” (see March 25 link below)
According to the CDC, regular flu has killed approx. 11K people in the US this year ( see the ranges below from 4800 deaths by mid-Jan to 20k est). Covid has killed 2,497 this year in the US, and 33,976 world-wide. Flu season is over; Covid ‘season’ hasn’t peaked here yet.
so far in Calif, we are at 516 flu deaths. Our virus deaths right now are 101. That puts us 20% over usual hospital load. But more than that, instead of being spread over 4 months like flu season, it’s in one month. So if hospitals are used to say 125/flu/mo, then 100 more coming in is 100% more beds needed yesterday and it starts getting hairy.
Feb numbers for NY were about 1600 hospitalized for flu. They’ve had 686 virus deaths on top of that. So you can figure a few thousand hospitalized but not dying. So just in beds for the deceased it’s a 200 % increase, and all needing a higher level of care than ‘just flu’, all at once.

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 7,428 deaths from the flu were confirmed by a lab test for that virus in 2019. If you add in the 3,771 test-confirmed deaths already tallied in 2020, the total number of deaths that can be definitively tied to the flu is 11,199.
