This is a "ventilator. They get about $200 bucks each for them. There are millions of these in hospitals, ambulances and clinics. Only drawback is that it requires someone to squeeze the bag...

So for every patient you need someone squeezing the tube , all day for 20 days.
We better start making shovels.

Generally speaking, yes. It is a machine that controls breathing for the patient via an endotracheal tube. You control the pressure, rate of breaths, oxygen content and a few other things with it. To get everything right, you need to obtain occasional chest stays and blood gasses to get the settings right.
Some confusion comes as the N95 masks, the round fitted type, are referred to as respirators. But it’s just a higher filtration mask.

They would need replaced tubing, but are not one-time-use.

Yeah, try that on a frail old lady. It would blow the side out her lungs. You might as well use a Ruger.

We will start on your relatives. I really hope your joking. If you are serious, there is really something missing in your education.

If you kept waking up because of sounds...you did not have a great anesthesiologist.

You literally have to have at least a 1:1 staff:patient ratio to use them, and that only for a short time.Or a patient with sufficient strength and awareness to squeeze his own. While awake, of course.

Unless she is someone who cares about you, will she keep squeezing the bag?

Also, it wasn’t sounds. It was like being a sidewalk and getting excavated.
