I like NOLA. As usual in the minority here. I go every year on my birthday. Horrible leadership but a fascinating city with the most wonderful food.
Bingo!
D.C. still has bigger rats that are a problem to the whole country. 8>)
There is no limit or season restrictions on rats, lol. Put out a study calling rat tail jerky a new paleo superfood and speculators will hunt them all down.
“Gather them up and sell them to China.”
American entrepreneurialism.
Staple some wings on ‘em, and its gourmet cuisine!
That name doesn't inspire much confidence.
It’s not like the rats weren’t there all along.
It’s just now people can see them.
A year ago, I was in NOLA for a conference. I arrived in the afternoon with a cold, took some medicine and went to bed. Because my sleep pattern was so disrupted, I woke up at 3:30 am, felt pretty good and decided to go for a walk to see if I could find food. I ended up walking down Bourbon toward Canal and it basically was vacated.... except for the rats. I remember taking a video of one ‘pack of about 20 rats’ which I promptly sent off to the local politicians and health authorities when I got back to my hotel. Surprisingly enough, they all contacted me in fairly short order with the objective of trying to find out exactly where I took the video.
Bottom line is that the rat population didn’t just multiply mysteriously overnight... it was there all along and the reduced activity and noise has just allowed them to get more used to coming out into the light.
What about the nutria?
I have a friend who went there. I told him not to go. He was posting the mayor’s video about how she would have cancelled it if the federal government had told her to.
Really? Everyone had the same data; you’re saying you should have been stopped from making the decision you made?
LOL!
ewww. Rats or Democrats, I say ewww.
Wow
I expect the same from NYC, since they were roaming the streets even when full of humans.
Venice gets swans and dolphins. NO gets rats. How sad.
Nutria are semi-aquatic and unfit for urban survival like rats are.
Only a government of morons would ignore this opportunity.
the proper housecleaning wont be done until cwii is over. sadly.
“This country needs a good housecleaning in many ways.”
Maybe this IS housecleaning happening? The first part — moving everything from it’s regular place?
