It’s warm in Brazil. Outside fomites not as much of a problem, viral load potentially less as well.
I’d be willing to bet their circulating D3 is fairly high, too.
The infected/hospitalized ratio will be different IMHO based on the latter, and maybe the former too.
Lots of papers over the next couple of decades will be written on this pathogen.

Until 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, the state health secretariats released 3,546 confirmed cases of a new coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2) in Brazil in 26 states and the Federal District. According to official figures, 94 are dead, 68 of them in São Paulo, according to the state health department.
