Fox Business Network fired anchor Trish Regan. The network made the announcement on Friday saying that they have officially “parted ways” with Regan. “We thank her for her contributions to the network over the years and wish her continued success in her future endeavors,” the network said in a statement. “We will continue our reduced live primetime schedule for the foreseeable future in an effort to allocate staff resources to continuous breaking news coverage on the Coronavirus crisis.”

That data wasn’t going for “total numbers” as you claim - it was to show the exponential growth over just a two week period.

Although let me add that part of that is likely due to more widespread testing being conducted vs. two weeks prior.
A more accurate number to be looking for as far as its impact would be the number of active hospitalizations for the disease, not just “infections.” The social distancing being practiced should help reduce the rate of it spreading to avoid being beyond the capacity of our hospital system. That’s the idea behind “flattening the curve” - to keep the number of active infections lower at any given time so that they can be treated.

is showing 104,865 cases with 1709 deaths. The media and certain politicians are deliberately causing panic for political gain. They have ruined many people and businesses financially and now we have debt we can never repay. When we default on that debt, the economic devastation will far outstrip the suffering and problems that occurred the last time beginning in 1929. We are going to see major economic damage from this and the indexes falling to lows that people can not imagine. The mult-trillion aid package will correct the damage that has already been done.
Everyone who has lied about this in order to create distress must be arrested, tried and punished severely. They have literally ruined peoples' lives.

Another person that has just “disappeared” is Kennedy. I have not heard or read anything as to why she is also gone.
We don’t know if those are accurate numbers since it seems States are using presumptive numbers. If you have the symptoms, which are similar to the flu, they count it as the virus.
Even so, we have had tens of thousands die from the flu this year, so having even 1,246 die from the virus is still nothing to kill the country over.

Sorry, but even exponential growth is misleading if the countries’ data is not being shown as percentages of Population....
That's because the respective growth curves will mirror each other since the exponential function is a *series* analysis independent of total value. That is, total population doesn't matter until saturation levels are reached; then of course larger populations will continue until they reach their own natural limits.
So, once again, the entire discussion we should be having involve really only two things:
1. Actual CV mortality daily totals - itself a measure that is constantly changing, as days old histories being going back to be updated, tweaked, etc. Also, we know that some/many countries are classifying a lot of peripheal deaths as CV. But, actual gov't produced stats are the best we have; and two, it doesn't really matter as long as they are all overstated in a consistent manner. Again, it's the **series** that counts.
2. THE CURVE. Without external influence, and all other things being equal: race, age, health, life styles, etc, the exponential curves will each follow the same progression. It's why Matt's log charts all show a nearly exact growth rate by country. IOW, a series.
The key here is action taken to alter the natural exponential curve ie doubling rate. What each country does, what each country's capabilities are to manage, provide health/emergency services, etc, will influence and shape their individual infection/mortality curves.
I hope everyone understands this; I realize this has been a crash course in stats for a lot of people. As such, more knowledgeable (like moi) could just as easily game the system in order to monetize social media exposure. But, I don't need the money, and I'm not really that type of person, so here I am trying to clear some fog @ FR.
In summary, watch the daily tallies, watch the cumulative totals, watch the growth rates, and watch for nay possible influence/impact of quarantine/social distancing & ramped up health care capabilities on THE CURVE. These are the only things that are going to impact different country by country comparisons.
