"Looking out from my lonely room day after day."

That tune reflected my mood. I recall looking out of my dormitory window at the gray skies over Saarbrücken, Germany as this tune played on my Realistic portable radio, tuned in to a station in Kaiserslautern or Luxembourg City, in January, 1972.

It’s hard to listen to any Badfinger song without thinking about the two members that wound up hanging themselves.

Who would thunk, back in the day, that not only Radio Shack, but Monkey Ward, KMart and Sears would one day end up on the scrap heap of history?
