I’m watching Birx now, on a slight delay, and they keep referring to NYC as one county. Of course it is five counties. And five of the largest counties in the US of course.
I was thinking what Trump was. Maybe now Fauci understands the attack-dog media better on Trump's side of the podium.

Hard to believe? People still don’t get just how brutal the CCP are. If they don’t give a sh*t about the lives of their people then why would they care about reporting their deaths accurately?
They’ve probably had 81000 deaths, with it ongoing - who knows how many cases. Why bother counting? The only thing they care about is power and control. I don’t believe anything I hear from them.

Aha, I had intended to inquire about that.
My own impression of today’s briefing (however) was that they were addressing ongoing and recently occurring travel from NYC to other areas (even including Florida) by NYC residents trying to escape the NYC lockdown.
I could be wrong in my impression (someone else here might be able to give a more accurate assessment of what they were actually referring to).
I am in California. I had a transfer at EWR earlier this month before the SF Bay and California shelter in place orders. It was uneventful although the return flight was definitely more sparse in ridership than the flight out there. Other than sporadic exceptions, I do not get to NYC or NY often, and regrettably not enough to trust my own impression on what is being stated at these briefings about NYC and NY.
There seems to be a modified response to reporters’ questions from President Trump’s team, given their hostile nature.
President Trump leads off and gives direct response to slanted questions. That’s the first quelling reaction.
Then each of the speakers when they answer the reporters, stick to the facts and ignore irrelevant aspects, which is sometimes the entire question.
The net effect is stupid questions are ignored and not answered. False assumptions are exposed and not permitted.
This was the first news conference where I could stand listening to the reporters’ questions.

Sorry to say, much of the rest of the country outside the current hot spots is now heating up. Our state is starting their upswing. People are getting it now and have absolutely no idea where they have picked it up. That says there are a whole bunch of asymptomatic carriers floating around spewing sickness in their wake for others to get.
By next week this time we may see many new emerging hot spots.
I just wish Whitehouse.gov would get the transcripts up sooner and put them on the front page of that web site along with the briefing replay.
Geeez. Why do they not know people need to be able to see this quickly and find it easily?
