Yep, very little of what we have been ordering is coming in less than than three days . So I’m not to worried about what is inside. Our packages are regulated to the top of one particular bar stool, opened, contents put away, boxes go directly out to the recycle bin. Wash hands scissors and Lysol the bar stool.

Doesn’t Amazon actually have drones to pick up your order and place it in the box? Then it’s wrapped on an assembly line so it’s all automated, right?
Or are “drones” what they call their warehouse people?
As tempting as it always is, do not pop bubble wrap. Most of that is made in China, so those bubbles are full of Chinese air!

I know of someone just like that before the China Virus thing. Almost to the point of being a Howard Hughes.
The funny part is she likes dining out, and will wipe down the menu before reading. The whole time she’s there she does not realize how nasty the server and cooks could potentially be. Things falling from a nose, unwashed hands touching food, body hairs, coughing, etc etc.
As a young man in Arlington, VA my girl friend and I used to love the scrambled eggs at a place called Tuddle House. That is until we watched the cook with snot draining from both nostrils falling onto the frying griddle.
Use bleach instead of water to make your coffee. If you still get sick, you can cure yourself with fish tank cleaner.

I, too, love Costa Rican coffee. I order mine from Boca Java. It is wonderful. No Folger’s or Maxwell House for me!

Also, one major virus vector is ducks. This is a busy season on the flyway. One can assume they defecate en route. I live across the road from one of their major destinations. DH is down there daily to photograph the returnees.
For another freakout, my area has many small hog operations. We all know viruses that infect avian and swine hosts can combine, mutate and become new organisms.
We humans evolved on this planet and while viruses mutate and novel strains, some of them virulent, arise at various times, we have brains to help us cope by inventing treatments and ultimately, cures. In the long run, enough of us catch the disease and survive, creating herd immunity.
We developed immune systems for a reason.
But, yeah. Keep it on the down low or people will start squirting Lysol up their noses. Or worse.
Nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure?
Received a package from Amazon today.. Using plastic gloves I put it on the garage where it will sit for months.. unless there is a power outage and I need it to charge my phone.

I’m pretty sure you really want UV-C for decontamination, and that it is at least somewhat bad for your eyes, or for prolonged exposure to skin.
The ones I’ve seen are made to be put in your a/c plenum, near the coils, and kill fungus and mold that builds up from the water collecting in the summer. They would also tend to kill the bugs in the air, over time.
Received a package today. Opened it, put cool new stuff away, threw box in trash, washed hands, moved on with my life.
We open the box on the porch, take the stuff out, leave the box on the porch until the neighbors complain or some high wind blows them away, and then throw them into our recycling.
Then wash our hands. We have paper towels outside to use to open the doors, and everybody who goes out anywhere is required to use the paper towels on the door knobs, and go straight to the sink and wash up, using the paper towel to turn on the faucet, then they can dry with the paper towel and throw it away.

So, I shouldn’t bother using my blacklight still in its cardboard box from decades ago? I had a feeling it wasn’t the proper kind to kill viruses. Darn it!
