“Thank you for that post from the doctor. Time to break out a medical dictionary!”

I posted it on the main FR page, that’s what they are doing over there. I need it explained to me like I’m 5.

I had a procedure coming up and had been trying to contact the doctors’ office regarding rescheduling. I had left 2 messages on their answering service. They happened to call today to reschedule my wife’s appointment with them and I was able to jump on the end of her call to handle my own appointment.

They are cancelling all voluntary procedures as they are gearing up for CCP-19 overflow from other areas. This is in a fairly quiet part of the state (NH) not near any big cities (45 minute drive to Nashua). The local hospital is smallish and the people that live around here are largely older wealthy liberals with lots of liberal privilege. Our HCS is clearly gearing up for major amounts of CCP-19 cases even in out-of-the-way locations. I can only assume this is nation wide.

Got some more gas for the generator and topped off the car. Gas is still over $2 here. Drove by the gun shop and they had a sign out “we have plenty of hand guns left”. All three of the shops were open but only one looked busy. Saw more people out locally than I expected, but few overall. Many, many out of state plates from all over the place, not just the usual mostly MA and VT people. Driving and parking skills seem to have degraded sharply.

Lots of signs saying “we’re hiring”, “closed until further notice”, “take out and delivery service”, “temporarily closed” and so forth. Parking lots at the big stores seemed half full or less. Many locations in the various malls I passed appeared closed, unusual for middle of the day, middle of the week.

Traffic was not heavy, even when it got close to rush hour. More semis than usual, but not tons. maybe I just noticed because of the lack of other traffic.

Heard them asking on the radio for volunteers - medically trained, retirees (that seems like a bad idea given the nature of this disease) and explicitly IT people (maybe I can do that). They were also asking people to donate blood.
