Turkish prosecutors said Wednesday they had formally charged 20 suspects for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018.

An indictment from the Istanbul chief public prosecutor’s office accuses ex-deputy chief of the Saudi intelligence service, Ahmed al-Asiri, and Saud al-Qahtani, a former close adviser to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, of “instigating premeditated murder with monstrous intent.”

It cites “evidence” from phone, travel and CCTV footage, as well as statements from dozens of witnesses.

Eighteen other Saudi nationals were also accused of carrying our Khashoggi’s killing with “monstrous intent and torture.”

Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and fierce critic of Crown Prince Mohammed, was killed inside Saudi Arabia’s consulate, where he had gone in October, 2018, to pick up some documents that would allow him to get married.

Hope this doesn’t get big in the news again; don’t think I could stand hearing British journos (and some Americans, like Shemp Smith) mispronounce the name “Khashogji” again.

Khashoggi was never murdered.
Khashoggi was an operative for the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization and was executed by his own Government.

I have problems with a lot of things that Saudi Arabia does, but killing terrorists is not one of them.

>> journalist Jamal Khashoggi,

“Journalist” is a centuries-old cover for intelligence/political operative/spy, which any deep look into Khashoggi’s background would make you think was the case here.

Beyond that, welcome to internal power politics in the Middle East. This isn’t a Western society with some level of respect for individual rights, fair elections and trials, etc.

And Turkey has done much worse, so their outrage here is laughable. I saw a talk by a real Turkish journalist a few years ago. He barely escaped the country with his family and life. Erdogan is a thug dictator, and Turkey should be banished from NATO and European/Western favor of any sort.

Local computer nerd where I live, was enraged at Trump for Kashogi’s death. Shows how twisted these people are.

Journalists use the title “journalist” and assume they are the good guys. They can’t see their own bias and understand how wrong their assumption is.
