Like I said, i have seen plenty of people with Lupus. Off the top of my head I don’t remember anyone dying from it and I do have a pretty clear memory of every patient I had that died. In 40 years I would estimate that I saw well over 100,000 patients. If that helps.
My wife has systemic Lupus. she belongs to a support group on Facebook with thousands of members. several in the hospital now, many of her friends have died due to Lupus.

I’ve only known two people that had lupus (that i’m aware of), and one of them died from it. That may have skewed my impression of the seriousness of it.
