It IS a new disease. The question is not does the medicine work for malaria. We know that. I have seen first hand what happens when not taken when it should have been. I saw a dozen malaria patients in one afternoon.

agreed! My primary care lets me manage my own health... as she has come to understand that I do know what Im doing, Still, I think she’d want me to tell her I’m “traveling” for a relief effort in a malaria zone, not just “hey, I know what I’m doing and this is why.”

I do feel sorry for you perhaps your objectivity is clouded.

It occurs to me Fauci and Brix know the truth which I find troubling. Seems to me if the answer was no they would be telling us. In fact it would be a headline in The NY Times.

I saw a dozen malaria patients in one afternoon.

I can see that that has a LOT to do with potential risk versus potential benefit, somewhere in that sentence.

Maybe if I re-order the letters I'll be able to find it...

I think it’s a horrible thing to push a political narrative that could result in massive deaths.

No. If the proportions of those taking it chronically are the same as the incidence of the diseases they were taking it for among the seriously ill and dead that is at least an indication it does nothing to reduce mortality.

If there is not one patient among the dead or seriously ill I would say, and have said, “Full Speed ahead!” So far I haven’t seen the question answered anywhere.

More word salad that doesn't address the potential risk versus the potential benefit.

We already know people can tolerate this medicine.

The question comes down to which is worse: diarrhea or death?

The question I asked has nothing to do with tolerating the medicine. All I want to know is does it work? That shouldn’t be too much to ask.

But the answer to your original question is no, because it cures COVID-19.

A more pertinent question would be what if the universe was created only five minutes ago, with the appearance of age?

Is that true? There are no patients in the dead or seriously ill who were on the drug. Can I ask your source?

These studies are mostly related to finding out why some people had higher consumption than others. There was another study to calculate cost of prophylaxis based on dose/person. Malarial prophylaxis is episodic which may not be what you were looking for.

https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Age-pattern-of-annual-chloroquine-treatments-per-person-during-a-community-based-study-of_fig4_8451683

Age pattern of annual chloroquine treatments per person during a community-based study of improving access to antimalarial drugs in Saradidi, Kenya

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/19472968_Consumption_of_chloroquine_phosphate_provided_for_treatment_of_malaria_by_volunteer_village_health_workers_in_Saradidi_Kenya

Consumption of the drug and characteristics of persons treated were recorded. Between 1 September 1982 to 31 August 1983, 40,649 treatments with chloroquine were given to village residents. The treatment rate per person in the mid-year population was 1.24. However, at least 41.8% of the mid-year population of 32,650 did not receive a single treatment. Multiple treatments were given to 50.5% of persons treated at least once and 13.4% of 13,879 persons treated at least once received five or more treatments during the year. Consumption patterns were not random: they were higher in females, in persons above 30 years of age and in the area with greater community organization and community participation.
