How many of those lost jobs will be present when these people are allowed to go back to work? Many of these places will never be able to reopen. You seem to think this is some kind of extended summer vacation and that everything will go back to normal in a few months. I highly doubt this will be the case.
Do you not consider the plight of those who are not yourself?
Feel free to shut yourself away from the rest of the world until YOU feel safe to come out. You have no right to demand the same of others, IMO.
The virus won’t be containable if we don’t have people socially distancing.
I saw a good simulation earlier today..without social distancing, 1 person infects 45 within X days (don’t remember the exact timeframe, but it was roughly a week or two). With social distancing, that drops to 3 infected (I think) from the original 1.
It’s a very tough situation. But not keeping people separate will ensure a WORSE economic outcome in the long run, as the system totally collapses from healthcare overload.
And not sure why you’d assume I’m “not considering the plight of those who are not yourself”. Of course I am.
