I was on a cruise 50 years ago that stopped in valparaiso and also in Punta Arenas Chile along with almost every other port city in S.A. But is was on a Navy Guided Missile Frigate.
That is one heck of a cruise! Holy Moly, I didn’t even know they lasted that length of time.
They don’t last that long. This was a scheduled 14 day cruise.

It’s a bit misleading as these folks have been stuck on this ship for some time, they were not allowed to disembark and are returning home.
Some cruises last many months and WHY I can’t imagine being held a prisiner, on a ship, for such a long time. Not my kind of vacation at all; though apparently it suits others.
Cruise ships are very very careful about cleaning everything. They don’t want to make the news either it’s bad for business. It is rare when cruises go bad. So very very rare that huge news stories are made of it.

Not many people go for more than a week or two. During that time great food, drinks, entertainment, bikini clad women all over the ship, snorkeling, scenery, gambling. In other words the things that keep you alive.
ZaanDAMN!!
But IF this is what YOU enjoy, then go for it! You don't see me pushing what I like to do on others and would appreciate the same politeness in return. Thanks in advance for not putting down what I just said and please don't bother asking what I prefer to do on a vacation.
Notice it said “influenza” type symptoms and not the virus symptoms. BIG difference.
Why are people still using cruise ships? Do they have a death wish?
You could get a suite for that. Cheap would be more like $10,000.
Wtf is wrong with people?
We get an infrequent visitying cruise ship named "The World" that is apparently a floating retirement village. Wealthy buy in, and cruise the world, never leaving it.
Likely have a mortuary on board.
What do you do for fun?

Regards,
Round the world cruises can go 6 months, although I would assume it’ll be awhile before those resume.
All the big cruise ships have morgues.
I have never heard of that. I can only guess that I am not rich enough to know of such things!
