A good friend of mine had the Eagles play at his high school prom at Pacific Palisades High School in Los Angeles in 1970 or 1971.
Didn’t realize he was a football guy ...
I don’t believe in blaming the dead guy for atrocities committed by the living.
He was a good guy. He was doing a show near us, my mom was a big fan, and was very ill. He took a time to meet and greet her personally before the show.
Country and rock were intertwined, free flowing and marvelously creative back then.
I think I read somewhere that before the Eagles were known to anyone, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Jackson Browne all lived in the same apartment complex in Southern California....
Can you imagine the those 3 sitting around with buddies, drinking beer, smoking pot and playing tunes, especially if you were just a neighbor who knew all three...
Kenny knew when to fold ‘em I guess.
He was one of the very first American astronauts, too, not a lot of people remember that.
So now we know who to blame... :)
