Agreed. Many businesses will simply not be able stay in business after two weeks.
How will the economy operate being shutdown to this degree?
And when people who live paycheck to paycheck run out of money? Then the Federal government goes to every house and provides food deliveries? Every month? Not everyone has a prepper mindset.
And Cuomo is saying that is because why? What's the difference between 50% and 80%? 100%. In other words, Cuomo talks about causing fear - and then talks about the very thing that is going to cause people fear.
Governors need to focus on standing up resources to deal with COVID-19 now. Talking about what may be in 9 months is useless. It solves no current problem. It addresses no current need.

The headline says 80% will get virus.
But in the body of the story, it says:
"... said up to 80 per cent of New York could become infected"
and:
"...Cuomo said up to 80% of the state's population could get sick..."
and:
Cuomo quoted - "But 40 per cent up to 80 percent of the population will wind up getting this virus."
Really? This is what passes for journalism? Numbers ALL OVER the place. Could becomes will? What. The. Hell.
