Here in NJ liquor stores were deemed “essential” and can remain open; people are also going to grocery stores, but that situation has calmed down - only large main ones are still crowded, and in my town that is probably due to the fact that neighboring Newark NJ (NJ’s largest city) has few supermarkets.
Having people plan in advance is a good thing; I don’t blame people for not anticipating this (the scale/situation is very unusual compared to storms and such), but now we know.
About liquor—so I have a year’s worth of wine at home. My husband and I are sharing one bottle a night as always, but are no longer replacing them.
When this is over, assuming we keep our jobs, we will start replenishing our stock. :) There will be wine bargains out there. Already are.
