Give Rob Glaser a call. He did something like that 26 years ago.
FOSS?
Github link?
Just move it to another location.
Also, I wonder if you can encrypt data within the MP3 stream?
Because I control it and I can serve it privately.
I’ve been doing that with PLEX for about 6 years.
I stream “Radio Mystery Theater”, “Suspense” and about 80 other old radio shows that I can listen to over the internet. I also stream a few hundred Vietnamese soaps and movies for my wife to watch.
All I had to do was download and install the Plex Media Server and point it to a network location for the audio and video files.
That was pretty amazing, my jaw dropped when I saw it in 1994.
Nice!
Shoutcast is something that I have played with for years. I prefer Linux for additional security should I ever wish to broadcast over the internet. I use MIXXX for the music manager. The computer that I run it on is not super powerful but MIXXX has a line-in microphone port manager for broadcasting talk.
Also, the intent here is not for music but a private broadcast. I could probably add some additional security.
Also, my ISP may have issues with me doing this. Who knows.
What was amazing?
Ditto with Plex, Synology, and many other solutions.
broadcasting sound over the internet.
It was great. But your discovery is off by about 26 years.
Play Misty for me.
I'm wrapping my computer in tinfoil so you can't get through to me with your deviant mindwaves.
I set it up for my LAN so that anything on my LAN can access our music library. Works really well.
Set up a tower on the other side of the Mexican boarder. Then you don’t have to follow FCC regulations.
I would never want to break any laws. But possibly broadcasting audio to the family, etc.
You’re mixing up your multiple Freerepublic usernames. You’re supposed to switch accounts so it looks like a dialogue, not a monologue. I’ve never seen someone actually crap on themselves with their fake accounts, so this is new.
