Let me get this straight. There is no vaccine to prevent getting the virus. The media criticizes the Trump administration for not having enough test kits. What good do the test kits have - there's no medical cure. So you get diagnosed as having the virus. Then what?
Seems to me that everyone should implement best practices (social distance, washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, etc.). When you feel under the weather, hibernate in your abode. It doesn't matter weather you have the coronavirus, or the flu. Both are highly contagious and both have resulted in a certain percentage of death (and on pure quantity, the flu has resulted in vastly greater numbers of dead people).
Yes, everyone should follow those common sense suggestions, even for the flu. Nobody is arguing against that. What some of us (and tragically few) argue is that imposition of the police state tactics we are seeing is unwarranted and dangerous to a free society. Do you pay attention to the actual data? The virus is not equally dangerous to the entire population. Let’s direct resources to protect the vulnerable, not impose a “temporary” police state. BTW, there is no “cure” for the flu, only treatments and tens of thousands of Americans die from it every year. The efficacy of flu vaccines is not impressive and many years the vaccine makers “guess wrong” about which flu the population needs to be protected from.
I hate to tell you this - you are going to die someday. It probably won’t be from COVID 19. If you value the illusion of safety more than your freedom, I am sorry for you. If you feel that your emotional comfort is a legitimate reason to enslave others, I fear you and those like you.
