My colleague was at work a couple of days ago and was told to take off his N95 mask and googles, “you’re scaring the patients”

He just stared at the boss and said “are you ordering me not to wear PPE?”

A store clerk (one of many "department managers") in a large "supercenter" was told the same about her gloves in regards to customers by an "assistant manager" (one of many). Tens of thousands of customers have been crowding into the store each week, more of them each day. The place is packed. They get much too close to each other and to the employees. The store is very near busy traffic hubs in the middle of the Midwest.

Any of the store employees saying something like that instead of taking the gloves off would have been fired under some other excuse. The store is not really abiding by its advertised policy promises, and executives have very bad attitudes.

So watch out. Incoming. The hospitals may soon be clobbered with even higher numbers of patients needing IC than expected by some of the most attentive and courageous epidemiologists.

Because you know, it's sometimes difficult to see the ground from a comfortable place high above.
