No problem......I agree it’s getting a bit contentious around here..... What I meant to say at the end of my original post was that when life was tougher and less forgiving, people had no choice but to act tougher.... We are blessed to be living longer with all sorts of creature comforts..... so while the crisis is very real, the level of panic does have some correlation to how comfortable we’ve become, and how much we take all these luxuries and human longevity for granted
I run a small conservative website, and I posted Coronavirus news. I have had a few posters come on and criticize me for blowing it out of proportion or trying to frighten people. What is interesting is, they use terms like “Shame on you!” an d “What is your name?”, and idioms you’d expect to hear in China.
My take is PRC is launching trolls to push the “Just a flu” meme, because they unleased a pandemic which so far has an 8% mortality in places like Lombardy, and they are trying to minimize the anger globally, by getting people to say it is just a flu, and no big deal.
The bottom line is, I think the best analogy is pointing a 5 shot revolver at your leg with your eyes closed, and pulling the trigger with one round in one cylinder. 80% of the time nothing will happen. 20% of the time you are making a trip to the hospital. And if you happen to hit an artery (unlikely, but possible), you won’t make it.
And if you are older, it is a big deal.
We have the best President ever, who knows the economy better than anyone. Why we have all these armchair quarterbacks who think he is willingly destroying America or purposely crashing the economy needlessly is beyond me.
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. I place my trust and hope in our Lord.
