Plenty of videos on YouTube about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos as well as interviews by the author of Bad Blood. It is nothing short of shocking how far she got, how much money she made, and how many people were duped by her because they wanted to believe.

About this:
The manufacturer of critical breathing equipment has threatened to sue a man, technician Christian Fracassi, for 3D-printing a valve for the machine The machine is a medical device, all parts of that medical device, are medical devices.
The technician just introduced a counterfeit medical device, associated with the ventilator manufacturers medical device. Off the top of my head, I cant recall the reg but its akin to a misbranded drug. The EU MDRs have similar regs/laws and the requirement for Medicinal Products manufactures to have procedures in place to mitigate.
The author is barking up the wrong tree.

Did you read the part about the manufacturer could not supply the part, so he made one and saved 10 people.

Sure did, regulations dont care and the manufacturer would be open to regulatory actions including, the mandatory recall of the device, production shutdown & inventory lockdown.
The rules are intended to protect the patient. The resourceful tech, whom I applaud, shouldve kept it on the down low but why would anyone think of the need?
The manufacturer is not out for blood they just want him to stop putting his device into the market for their device.

A atonal emergency and an action that directly impacts national security. Arrest them for treason, try them, convict them and hang them.
