It is frustrating. We more or less have been locked down by my wife's hospital system. They are additionally late to the party like the other one in the city.

Somehow they figure that failed administrators in the past can somehow handle this now. FUBAR.

We began preparing in January. Odd how we saw this coming and those that are paid did not. I think this is the curse of insurance companies taking over health systems.

The need to change to a new reality has caused paralysis with people. PPE appropriate for the situation, consciousness of fomites, and keeping the home "green" upon entry have to be drilled into people. Our country is not doing that.

We are taking care of a few now and we suspect a few more will follow. My priority is to make sure my wife (MD) is not infected and comes back to a low stress environment. That could change. They are locking down staff in the hospital and yet have not provided proper PPE. We laugh at Italy. We won't be laughing in a couple of weeks.

Just venting. One of those "special" posters here call it hysterics. It is pure anger at the "special" posters who don't get it.

Best.

I’ve been thinking I could spare a box (10) of N95 masks to our local hospital that had the first death and many CV patients. I reuse ours many times and decon them. But still have kids and friends that may depend on us for more. If I knew that the nurses and doctors were being as careful on re-using them, I might be willing to donate a box.

Or is that a fool’s errand? I could just see them using it for a day and then tossing it. (And to think, three weeks ago they were probably tossing them as they left each patient’s room!)

As stressful as it is for your wife, I bet she is glad to come home to a place where she doesn’t have to feel like she has to wash her hands every time she touches something!
