Interesting. I thought malaria was caused by the bacterium Plasmodium, but if this drug works, it's great news.

Plaquenil and Chloroquine are both used against chronic lyme infections as well. The lyme and malaria bacteria behave the same way and will go dormant and cover themselves in a biofilm that medications cannot penetrate. Then they pop up again whenever they want. The chloroquine eats away at the biofilm, so that medicine can reach the actual bug. Apparently it seems that it does the samething with the covid-19 virus.

I had to take plaquenil, and chloroquine at times, with massive amounts of antibiotics for a couple years to fight lyme
